About

Hello!

Thanks for visiting nanopolitan 2.0!

[Update: I’m not maintaining this blog anymore, but I continue to post at my first blog, nanopolitan.

Update 2 (8 February 2009): Materials science oriented blogging now continues at Materialia Indica.]

My name is Abi (T. A. Abinandanan), and I am on the faculty of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. Speficically, I am with the Department of Materials Engineering. My research interests are in modelling and simulations of microstructures and their evolution during phase transformations, sintering, grain growth, and high-temperature deformation.

Since December 2004, I have been blogging at nanopolitan, and when I set this up here on the WordPress platform, I chose to call it nanopolitan 2.0; I expect this blog to have posts on science with a soft focus on materials science. (You may notice a lot of early posts on many other topics, though.)

Disclaimer: The views and opinions found in nanopolitan and nanopolitan 2.0 (and other group blogs to which I contribute) are not necessarily shared by people or organizations (including my past and present employers) that I have been associated with.
